Paralyzed by Tolerance

Reported rapes and sexual assaults against women have gone through the roof in four European countries over the last 20 years. But they have dropped in another one. So what’s the difference? Maybe it’s time we ask, “Are all civilizations equally compatible?” The West’s strange reluctance to criticize illiberal assumptions about women, dissent, and pluralism, is going to kill it. This conversation is not about hatred or fear, but common sense, shared moral assumptions, and whether a free society can survive if it loses the courage to be honest.
